Ledbetter's Tennessee Lead Pedigree

Tennessee Lead II was out of Lead and one of Mike Dohoney's females.

Bloodline of Tennessee Lead & Tennessee LeadII Empty Ledbetter's Tennessee Lead

I used to hunt with Billy Ledbetter back in the seventies...I just realized how old that makes me sound.
He graciously used to put us up as visitors to his home in macKenzie Tenn. I haven't heard from him for years...would he still be kicking around? I also hunted with Billy at the Grand American at Orangeburg,SC...those were great days. I stopped at Mike Dohoney's once, he farmed between Indianna and Kentucky, and was probably the best handler I ever saw.
I had a son from Ledbetter's Lil out of Houses Clint that won his first registered hunt, on his first nite hunt. He ended up at Joe House's and Mike handled him.
There must still be bloodlines going back to Lead someplace...My brother got a pup from my male, crossed with a collie, and he kept getting males back for replacements from every cross bred bitch in the neighborhood. Four generations later, I got a little female back from a beagle we bought, and she treed her first coon by herself at 7 months. I nearly fell over when I saw it. She trails like the old man, trees silent, but won't leave the tree till you find her.

Bruce, Billy Ledbetter is still kicking. He has sent me a lot of information to use on the site and has a lot of knowledge of the day for sure. I will be putting some of this information up in the next few weeks of some of the hounds of that era.

In the 80's I had a pup out of Lead 2 that came from Chet Cooley around Madison Indiana. He was a pretty good pup that made a pretty tough hound. I was young then and probably screwed him up some for jacking the tree. Love seeing these dogs names on here. Touching part of me hunting history.
