NITE CHAMPION FINLEY RIVER CHIEF
The beginning of the strain called Finley River.
Chief was named Finley River Chief by Herb Carsten because of a river near Springfield, Missouri Herb hunted on Finley River.
The combination of Shertler's Sonny Boy and Bixler's Supreme Sally produced the father of the Finley River Strain. When these two great hounds were mated history was made and that history was Finley River Chief.

MACK TWAIN
When you see in some of the old ads the mention of Mack Twain, this is him and he was mentioned a lot. Great track dogs with cold noses that were very hard tree dogs. They were CoonDogs.

CALIFORNIA MACK
One of the more famous sons of Mack Twain. John Cason who owned California Mack and would have promoted him and the Mack Twain strain was killed in an auto accident as he was moving from Hollywood to Oklahoma.
